When to use

Use to work out how many units of alcohol are in a drink, and to keep track against the UK low-risk guideline.

Why use

One UK unit is 10 ml of pure alcohol. Knowing units helps you stay within the guideline of no more than 14 units a week.

Advice

To keep health risks low, the UK guideline is no more than 14 units a week for both men and women, spread over three or more days, with some drink-free days. 14 units is about 6 pints of average beer or 10 small glasses of wine.
