Tools & Knowledge Hub

Evidence-led clinical tools, free to use

Calculators, medicine reference and templates — source-labelled, clinically reviewed, and dated. Built for clinicians, students and teams.

Why we built this hub

Reference you can trace back to its source

The internet is full of medical calculators and medicine pages that give you a number or a paragraph with no indication of where it came from, when it was last checked, or who stands behind it. That opacity is a problem in clinical work, where a single unverified value can shape a decision. The Tools & Knowledge Hub takes the opposite stance: every calculator names its formula and evidence base, every medicine entry carries a provenance label and a last-reviewed date, and clinical content is signed off by our Clinical Director. You should never have to guess whether a resource is current or trustworthy.

The hub gathers four families of resource in one place. Adult and paediatric clinical calculators compute scores and doses in your browser, showing the working so you can learn the logic rather than just copy the answer. The Medicine Finder and the Drug Safety & Side-Effect Checker draw on permitted public sources such as the NHS Website Content API, never scraped material. The templates and checklists turn governance overhead — audits, SOPs, DPIAs, procurement packs — into reusable starting points. And the Exam Revision Planner helps students structure UKMLA, PLAB and finals preparation around a real exam date.

Who uses the hub

Built for three groups, with their needs in mind

Practising clinicians

Quick, transparent reference for ward, clinic and on-call moments — scores, conversions and safety information you can sense-check against the working shown, then confirm against local policy and the BNF.

Students and trainees

Calculators that teach the formula, a planner that paces revision, and links through to structured medical education. The goal is understanding, not a black box.

Teams and services

Governance-aware templates and the option of a bespoke build, so quality-improvement, procurement and digital-health projects start from a sound, assured foundation.

How the pieces fit together

The tools are designed to hand off to one another. Run a score in a calculator, then look up the drug it points you towards in the Medicine Finder; check its safety profile in the Drug Safety & Side-Effect Checker; and, if you are revising, fold the topic into your planner. Where a resource cannot yet answer your question, we say so plainly and point you to the authoritative source — the BNF, the Summary of Product Characteristics, or NHS.UK — rather than guess. That honesty about limits is part of how we keep the hub safe to rely on.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools safe to use clinically?

They are for education and reference only and are not a substitute for clinical judgement, local policy or product labelling. Always verify calculations, doses, contraindications and local guidance before clinical use.

Where does the data come from?

Calculators show their formula, evidence basis and references. Medicine information is drawn from permitted public sources (such as the NHS Website Content API) with provenance labels and last-reviewed dates — we never scrape.

Who reviews the tools?

Clinical content is reviewed by our Clinical Director and carries a last-reviewed date. See our Quality & Editorial Policy.

Do the tools work offline or store my data?

Calculators run entirely in your browser, so the values you enter are computed locally and not stored on our servers. Search-based tools such as the Medicine Finder need a connection to query their source. You can use the calculators without creating an account.

Can you build a calculator or dataset we do not see here?

Yes. We design evidence-led calculators, dashboards and reference tools for clinical teams and digital-health products. Tell us the use case and we will scope a source-labelled, reviewable build — get in touch via the request button below.

Need a custom tool or dataset?

We build evidence-led calculators, dashboards and reference tools for teams.
