3. How often ≥6 drinks on one occasion?

4. Unable to stop drinking once started

5. Failed to do what was expected because of drinking

6. Needed a drink in the morning

7. Guilt or remorse after drinking

8. Unable to remember the night before

9. You or someone injured because of your drinking

10. Others concerned / suggested you cut down

Advice

≥8 suggests hazardous/harmful use; ≥16 warrants further assessment and brief intervention; ≥20 suggests possible dependence — consider specialist referral.
