What membership means
A network, not a job board
Joining the expert network is different from listing yourself on a freelance marketplace. The point is not to be one profile among thousands competing on price, but to be a credentialed member who is matched to work that genuinely fits your expertise. When an engagement comes to you, the scope has already been defined, the contracting and confidentiality are handled, and the rate is agreed before you commit. That removes the unpaid sales effort and the awkward negotiation that put many clinicians off consulting work in the first place.
It also means the work tends to be substantive. Rather than transactional tasks, members contribute to advisory conversations, validation of clinical AI tools, medical writing and review, audit and quality improvement, health-data work and education. These are areas where genuine clinical judgement is the value, and where being well matched matters more than being cheap or fast.
Joining, step by step
From application to first engagement
- Apply. Submit your name, specialty and geography, and a short account of your experience and credentials using the form above.
- Credential review. We review your background against our standards for the categories you are interested in, and respond with acceptance or a place on the waitlist.
- Onboarding. Accepted members complete onboarding, including confirming areas of expertise and availability, so we can match accurately.
- Matched engagements. When a scoped engagement fits your profile, we bring it to you with the brief, terms and rate already defined — you accept or decline.

Answers
Frequently asked questions
Who can apply?
Clinicians and specialists with relevant experience in advisory, AI validation, medical writing and review, audit and QI, health data, or education. We review credentials before acceptance.
How does the review process work?
You submit your credentials and areas of expertise; we review against our standards and respond with acceptance or a waitlist, then onboard accepted experts.
How are engagements and pay handled?
We match you to scoped engagements, handle contracting and confidentiality, and pay a fair, agreed rate per engagement.
How much time does network membership require?
There is no minimum commitment. You set your own availability and decline anything that does not fit your schedule or expertise; engagements are offered on a per-project basis, so membership flexes around your clinical and personal commitments rather than competing with them.
Can I take part if I work full time in the NHS or another role?
Yes — many members hold substantive roles and contribute on a sessional or occasional basis. You are responsible for any conflict-of-interest and employer-permission obligations that apply to your situation, and we keep engagements scoped so they remain compatible with that.
