Medical Animation

See the science in motion

Mechanism-of-action and patient-education animation that's accurate, on-brand and broadcast-ready — with clear scope, review and licensing.

Process

From script to screen

  1. Script & scopeMessage, audience, channels and licensing.
  2. StoryboardApprove the visual approach before production.
  3. Animate & reviewProduction with clinical accuracy review.
  4. Revise & deliverDefined revisions, then final assets.

What animation does well

Motion explains what a still cannot

Some ideas in medicine are fundamentally about change over time: a receptor binding and triggering a cascade, a device deploying inside a vessel, a disease progressing through stages, a drug clearing from circulation. A static diagram can hint at these, but motion shows the sequence, the timing and the cause-and-effect that make them make sense. That is why mechanism-of-action films and procedural visualisations have become a core part of how complex therapies and devices are explained to clinicians, payers and patients alike.

Done badly, medical animation drifts into generic stock-style graphics that look impressive but say nothing — or worse, imply a mechanism that the evidence does not support. We treat scientific accuracy as a hard requirement, not a finishing touch. Every sequence is built from your source material and checked so that what moves on screen reflects what actually happens, at a level of detail appropriate to the audience. The result is a film that earns trust in the room as well as attention.

Where the films are used

Built for the channel, not just the screen

Mechanism-of-action

MoA films that show how a therapy works at cellular or systemic level, for clinical and commercial audiences.

Patient education

Plain-language explainers of conditions, procedures and treatments, paced and labelled for non-specialists.

Device & procedure

Visualisations of how a device is deployed or a procedure performed, useful for training and sales aids.

Congress & training

Looping booth films, symposium openers and module animations sized for the venue or platform.

What you receive

A finished, publishable asset

A project does not end at a single rendered file. We deliver the master film plus the versions you need for real use — channel-sized cuts, captioned variants and, where helpful, still frames pulled from the animation for use in slides and print. Scope, revision rounds, voiceover, music and licensing are all agreed in writing at the start, so there are no surprises about how or where you can use the work.

  • Master mechanism-of-action, patient-education or device film, clinically reviewed
  • Channel-sized versions for web, congress loop, social or sales-aid use
  • Scripted voiceover, licensed soundtrack and caption files as required
  • Clear scope, revision allowance and usage rights documented up front

Animation pairs naturally with our scientific illustration work for stills and figures, and both sit within medical communications. Medical device manufacturers and life sciences and medcomms teams are frequent commissioners.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of animation do you produce?

Mechanism-of-action (MoA) films, patient-education explainers, device and procedure visualisations, and conference or training animations — all clinically reviewed for accuracy.

How does the process work?

Scope and script, then a storyboard you approve before production, then animation with clinical review, defined revision rounds and final delivery in your formats.

What about rights and licensing?

We agree usage rights, channels and territories up front, so you know exactly how and where you can use the final assets.

How long should a medical animation be?

Most mechanism-of-action and patient-education films land between sixty and ninety seconds — long enough to show a sequence clearly, short enough to hold attention. We size the script to the channel, whether that is a congress loop, a website embed or a sales-aid clip.

Do you handle voiceover, music and subtitles?

Yes — we can supply scripted voiceover, a licensed soundtrack and burned-in or separate caption files, and we build versions sized for the platforms you intend to use, so the asset is ready to publish rather than only half-finished.
