When to use

Use in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease to estimate the likelihood of advanced (F3–F4) fibrosis.

It helps decide who needs specialist assessment or further fibrosis testing.

Critical actions

Albumin in g/dL (divide g/L by 10). Cut-offs: <−1.455 and >0.675. The indeterminate zone is common; pair with elastography or FIB-4.
